Samsung Electronics has unveiled an internet-connected clothing care dresser, known as the Air Dresser, according to a report in The Korean Herald.
The Air Dresser provides a four-level garment care program: air, steam, dryer
The Air Dresser utilizes air and steam, which are sprayed at the top and the bottom, to effectively remove dust and odor from garments.
Samsung said the Air Dresser comes with an exclusive hanger that is capable of cleaning the inside of clothes.
Samsung Electronics President Kim Hyun-suk, who represents the consumer electronics division, told The Korean Herald that the Air Dresser reflects the lifestyles of millennials, claiming the new product will deliver users a new clothes refresher experience.
The Air Dresser connects to Samsung’s SmartThings application, which recommends different clothing care courses depending on materials.
“Millennials have emerged as core consumers of our home appliances,” Kim said. “It was our duty to study their lifestyles and deliver experiences and values they seek.”
The Air Dresser doesn’t come cheap and retails for $1,550 (R22, 352.09).
